We all want to help those around us in times of need, but what can we do from six feet away? Can you help? Making masks is a perfect way to help our community stay safe and show love to those around you, especially with the recent mandate in Austin to wear a mask in public. With your help, we can draw our community closer together, no matter how far away we need to be. Gateway wants to distribute masks to those around us. We’ll be providing masks for volunteers that assist with refugee families or work at our Feed the Community food distribution. Any extras will be donated to the Austin Disaster Relief Network to share with the community.
How can I make a mask?
Directions for making sew and no-sew masks can be found at the CDC website.
Where do I take them? When?
Gateway will be collecting masks during our Feed the Community food drop-off times at our North Austin, South Austin, and Buda locations.
North Austin: Sundays between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
South Austin: Thursday and Saturday between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Buda: Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
