As we are seeking faith, new to faith, growing in faith, there are words that just seem foreign to us. There are some “big Ideas” and key words in scripture that, in the original Greek language, hold deep insights into God and his heart. Discover how understanding the biblical ideas of “selflessness,” “justice,” and “change” can affect us deeply today.
- March 13: Selflessness – We are surrounded by selfish people and narcissists who think the world revolves around themselves. Sometimes we are our own worst enemies when we self-sabotage or self-medicate. What if the journey to self-discovery is not found by more of self but actually selflessness.
- March 20: Justice – We protest for justice. We work and pray for social justice. We watch movies about the Justice League. What actually is justice? According to the Scriptures, justice originates from God and His righteousness. We can discover how to bring God’s kind of righteousness and justice to earth without being “self-righteous,” “judging others,” or hypocritical. Instead, we can bring healing to our world.
- March 27: Change – Jesus brought genuine change into our world and can bring genuine change into our lives. We can learn to remove the obstacles that keep us from experiencing more of God’s presence, peace, and love in our lives. We have access to God’s Spirit, but does the Spirit of God have all of us? Living a life of surrender and repentance brings us the life we’ve always wanted.
