On Feb. 12th, we will be transitioning to one service at 10:30 am.
In the month of December, we began the conversation with our team, leaders, volunteers, and community about this transition. After hearing from you through our survey and conversations, we prayerfully discerned to transition towards one service. We believe moving to one service will help us to maximize the gifts of our community and cultivate a welcoming atmosphere for others to connect with us.
Between now and Feb. 12th, our two main goals are : 1) to work with all of our teams on how best to transition and 2) prepare our campus for one service (updating and ordering new signs, recruiting for new volunteers, etc.). In the coming weeks, we’ll be connecting with our serve teams on next steps, and we’d love to partner with you.
For those who are curious, here’s a quick snapshot of what we learned from our December survey:
- 51% prefer 1 service.
- 32% are open to either 1 service or 2 services.
- 17% prefer 2 services.
We’re excited that 83% of our people either prefer or are open to one service; we are also aware that this change will be costly for some in our community. Prior to Feb. 12th, the staff team and I are committed to leaning into this change with you. We plan to continue hearing from you, identifying opportunities for growth, and creatively addressing challenges together.
