Campus Update

We are grateful that wherever we live or go, we get to be a part of building the body of Christ, His church in the world. Thank you for taking time to hear all about what God is doing.  A couple of changes coming to Pflugerville:

  1. In this season, Gateway is right-sizing based on where the church is post-pandemic. Gateway is committed to loving and serving people in Pflugerville, but starting June 23rd, the Inspire Service will now meet at Gateway North where Gateway has a 24/7 space designed for adults, kids, and students.
  2. Pastor Jon Eng will be launching a new church in Pflugerville called Union Church starting on June 23rd. Union Church will be meeting at the same time and same location: 10:30am on Sundays at 1201 S Heatherwilde Blvd, 78660. You can learn more about Union Church here:  https://www.unionaustin.com.

Why the change?
Many churches and businesses made organizational changes during the pandemic.  Gateway stayed the course during the pandemic by continuing to launch and host Inspire Services on Sundays to serve physical and spiritual needs in Pflugerville.  Now, on the other side of the pandemic, Gateway is rightsizing based on the size of the church-at-large today.  Since Gateway North has a facility just 15 minutes away with 24/7 space designed for adults, kids and students, we’ll be inviting people living in Pflugerville to join us at Gateway North. At the same time, Jon is feeling led to start a new church called Union Church and is excited to grow the community there. To be clear, there is no animosity or moral failure driving this change. Instead, we are taking the posture we see Acts 15:28: “it seemed good to us and to the Holy Spirit” to move in this direction.

What’s my next step?
When you’re ready, just click here to let us know what you decide, or send us any questions, and we’d be happy to connect with you. If you filled out a card at our Town Hall or on May 26th, no need to fill this out again unless you have questions.

  • We ask that you pray a prayer of “willingness” to ask God where He wants you to connect, grow and serve– Gateway Church or Union Church? Then follow where He leads you.
  • There is no hurry to rush this important decision, but when you have clarity, we’d love to know what you decide so we can serve you and your family.
  • Jon Eng and Charles Dishinger (Executive Pastor at Gateway) will partner together to care for you and others as we hear back.

We’re excited for the journey ahead as we follow Him!
