See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
Isaiah 43:19
In this verse, God is trying to help change the perspective that Israel has at the moment. When uncertainty sets in about the future, God is trying to show them, He is doing something new here that Israel has not yet thought about. God is providing a new pathway, a fresh start, and ways to bring hope to places in their lives that feel lost or bring a sense of fear. God is asking us to pay attention and look for the ways that He is bringing a pathway in the wilderness and rivers in the dry wasteland. Let’s pray that we have eyes to see what God is up to in our lives.
With a new school year, Gateway has provided 3 Sundays in August after our 9:15 am and 11:15 am services to get involved and try something new! Whether it’s a class, group, or student ministry to get involved in, God wants to do something new this year and is inviting you to join Him on this journey!

Practice: Make this your own
God is inviting you to walk out the path He has for you this school year! What is the “new” thing God is inviting you into? Ask God to show you what new opportunities He wants you to join and be a part of this new school year. Pray that God would bring you new opportunities to learn more about His character and His Word. Pray that God would calm any nerves that you are experiencing as you enter a new grade, new teachers, new school, and new schedule. Pray that God would give you His confidence to trust Him with this year and look for the “rivers” in the dry wasteland. Pray that any fear of failure would not overwhelm you, but allow you to refocus on taking the next step with Jesus. Finally, pray that you have opportunities to help someone as they are struggling to adjust to a new grade and are allowing the fear of failure to control them. Pray that God gives you boldness to pray for them and for God to give them supernatural peace.
