and to live obediently before your God.

In this verse, God provides three ways that we can love our communities this school year: 1. Advocate for Justice or fairness. We aim to treat our family, teachers, neighbors, and friends with respect. 2. To be faithful. This can look like being a good friend who is kind and loving—helping Mom or Dad around the house with various chores and listening to their words and instructions. Lastly, to live obediently before God. To love God is to obey God. How does God want you to obey Him this year? What are the ways you can show God that you love Him and want to follow Him in everything you do? Let’s pray that we can find ways this school year to bless our communities by being fair, a good friend/brother/sister who is loyal and loving to our classmates/siblings/neighbors, and find ways to obey God because it brings honor and praise to Him!
Promotion Sunday is August 17th! Join us in celebrating a new school year. All Elementary-aged kids will officially move up to their new grade. There will be balloons, treats, and a fun photo opportunity for the whole family! Our rising 6th graders going on to Middle School will get to join our friends in the students section of the main auditorium. With a new school year comes new opportunities to meet people in your Sunday School class and help make an impact in your communities!

God is inviting you to love our communities this school year! Pray that God brings classmates for you to show fairness. Pray that God shows you ways to listen to your teachers and parents this school year. Pray that God gives you opportunities to learn what it means to obey God in the big and small ways. Pray that God brings you wisdom to know how to love and serve your neighbors, meeting the needs of your community! Pray that God gives you eyes to see people as God sees them, full of purpose and deeply loved. Pray that God would use your story to help impact someone’s life so that they decide to follow Jesus and want to get baptized! Pray that God would do more than we could ever imagine this school year than in years past. God, please show us in the big and small ways that you are God as we partner with you to love our communities this year! Amen.
