Making Amends (Recovery Step 9)

Working the 12 Steps is a liberating and life-giving process, but challenges and hurdles arise in the midst of doing the work. Attempting to do the steps without careful planning and experienced guidance, the potential for more hurt is possible. Knowing this, Gateway gathered three pastors from across our campuses in Austin to sit down and share their own stories, struggles, and keys to unlocking new life and freedom as you walk through Step Nine.
Step Nine: Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

Gateway North Austin Recovery

Our Community of Recovery at Gateway North is a place to find freedom from several types of struggles, including anxiety, pornography, fear, control, substance abuse, codependency, eating disorders/body image, anger, obsessive thoughts, hurts from others, and any other struggle that has you stuck.

In our Community, you will find a safe place that provides support and equipping for those looking for Hope, Health, and Healing. All are welcome!

We typically meet each week on Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a hybrid of in-person and online. We start in a large group for the first 30 minutes. This time provides us a space to let go of the pressures and stress that we each face on a daily basis.

Following our Large group time together we break into our Share Groups, which are gender-specific. Each of our groups provides a time for everyone who desires to share, the opportunity to do so. Share Groups feed into our Groundwork Groups, which is where each participant continues their recovery journey in a gender-specific closed small group.

We desire for each one within our Recovery Community to develop the relationships and support needed to find Hope, Health, and Healing. Come join us on the journey to Freedom!

We look forward to you joining us at North!
