Who We Are
We are a community of people who are in process. We have imperfect messy lives, but we are pursuing and experiencing a transforming relationship with Jesus and with each other. Everybody is welcome here, whatever your story, your questions, doubts, or struggles. We’re all about doing life together in community, being intentional about our growth as people, and serving one another and our broader community along the way. We would love for you to join us online or in-person this weekend.

SENIOR PASTOR
CARLOS ORTIZ
Carlos Ortiz became the Senior Pastor of Gateway Church on May 7, 2023, after a fruitful succession season with our Founding Pastor, John Burke. Carlos and Libby moved to Austin just weeks before the pandemic began in March of 2020.
Carlos earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Southwestern University, with a minor in Biblical studies, and then seminary work towards a Masters of Theological Studies in Dallas (SMU). In 2025 Carlos will celebrate 30 years of following Jesus, after becoming a Christ follower in college.
Carlos and Libby share openly about their upbringing and work through addiction, sexual dysfunction and transformative faith from knowing Jesus. Now married for 24 years, they have a family of 5 kids (Carlos, Bella, Ava, Zoe and Maxwell), and they are proud to be Texans with Midwestern roots.
